The Municipal Building is an excellent example of the Internationl Style, as reflected in its flat roof, ribbons of windows, emphasis of volume, and the windowless expanse of stonework on the original entry bay. The Boulderado Hotel opened with a New Year's Eve Ball in 1908-1909, and was Boulder's first luxury hotel. This five-story hotel located at 2115 13th Street was the brainchild of three prominent men, Fred Moys, Jonas Bergheim and Walter Nichols, who urged all Boulderites to subscribe to a $100,000 fund drive in 1906.
